Connect Get help

Guided setup. Our team connects it with you, usually within 1-2 business days. Connect opens a short form: what you want it to do, the best time to reach you, and who your Salesforce admin is. We schedule the setup with you, test it on your account, and then turn it on for callers.

Saving messages to Salesforce turns on with the AI receptionist. We connect Salesforce now; until that is switched on for your line, the receptionist takes a message instead.

Setup steps

  1. Choose Connect. A short guided-setup form opens, and our team takes it from there.
  2. On a short call, an admin signs in to Salesforce to approve the connection. We never see the password.
  3. Tell us who calls should be assigned to and which lead source to use.
  4. We test with you, then turn on logging and confirm on your ticket.

Permissions we ask for, and why

  • Access your data through the API: So the AI can find a contact by phone and log the call.
  • Create tasks and leads: So each call is logged and new callers become leads.

What the AI receptionist will do

  • Will look the caller up by phone number in Salesforce.
  • Will log the call on the contact with a short summary and callback number.
  • Will create a new contact or lead for a first-time caller, after reading their details back.

What it can't do, and limits

  • Guided setup: our team connects it with you and tests it on your account before callers rely on it.
  • Salesforce only allows API access on Enterprise, Unlimited and Developer editions, or Professional with Salesforce's API add-on. Nonprofits on donated licences usually have it.
  • Custom required fields or validation rules in your org may need a quick mapping on the setup call.

The AI says something is booked or ordered only when Salesforce confirms it. If Salesforce doesn't answer in time, the AI takes a message instead and tells the caller someone will follow up.

Troubleshooting

Does it work with Nonprofit Success Pack?

Yes. Calls are logged as tasks on the contact, which NPSP uses too.

Which edition do I need?

One with API access: Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer, or Professional with the API add-on.

Disconnecting, and the data we keep

An owner or admin can disconnect at any time from Phone, then Connectors, in the app. Disconnecting stops TimberSwitch using Salesforce straight away.

  • Your Salesforce account id and the settings you chose.
  • A log of each note or lead: time, Salesforce record id and a masked caller number.
  • Disconnecting removes our access straight away.

Still stuck?

Get help: it opens an Integration support ticket. Include the time of the call and what you expected to happen.
