Saving messages to Zoho CRM turns on with the AI receptionist. We connect Zoho CRM now; until that is switched on for your line, the receptionist takes a message instead.
Setup steps
- Choose Connect. A short guided-setup form opens, and our team takes it from there.
- On a short call, an admin signs in to Zoho CRM to approve the connection. We never see the password.
- Tell us who calls should be assigned to and which lead source to use.
- We test with you, then turn on logging and confirm on your ticket.
Permissions we ask for, and why
- Read contacts and leads: So the AI recognises a known caller.
- Create calls, notes and leads: So each call is logged and new callers become leads.
What the AI receptionist will do
- Will look the caller up by phone number in Zoho CRM.
- Will log the call on the contact with a short summary and callback number.
- Will create a new contact or lead for a first-time caller, after reading their details back.
What it can't do, and limits
- Guided setup: our team connects it with you and tests it on your account before callers rely on it.
- Works on every Zoho CRM edition; Zoho limits daily API use by edition, which normal call volumes stay well inside.
- Tell us which Zoho data center your account is in (for example .com or .eu).
The AI says something is booked or ordered only when Zoho CRM confirms it. If Zoho CRM doesn't answer in time, the AI takes a message instead and tells the caller someone will follow up.
Troubleshooting
Does it work on Zoho CRM Free?
Yes, within Zoho's daily API limits.
Where do calls show up?
In the Calls module on the contact or lead.
Disconnecting, and the data we keep
An owner or admin can disconnect at any time from Phone, then Connectors, in the app. Disconnecting stops TimberSwitch using Zoho CRM straight away.
- Your Zoho CRM account id and the settings you chose.
- A log of each note or lead: time, Zoho CRM record id and a masked caller number.
- Disconnecting removes our access straight away.
Still stuck?
Get help: it opens an Integration support ticket. Include the time of the call and what you expected to happen.
