Guided setup

Jobber for your AI receptionist, connected for you.

Turn "can you come out today?" into a real request in Jobber, with the caller's details and a call summary filled in.

● HVAC, plumbing, electrical, cleaning, landscaping ● Sign in with your account ● Field service
Guided setup, included.

Our team connects it with you, usually within 1-2 business days. Choose Connect, answer three quick questions, and a setup specialist schedules a short session with your Jobber admin, connects it and tests it on your account before callers rely on it. Anything Jobber (Octopusapp Inc.) needs first, such as a plan level or partner approval, is listed under Good to know.

Saving messages to Jobber turns on with the AI receptionist. We connect Jobber now; until that is switched on for your line, the receptionist takes a message instead.

What it will do on a call

  1. A returning customer calls. The receptionist recognises the number in Jobber and greets them by first name, without reading out anything private.
  2. A new caller asks about your services. Their name, number and what they need become a new lead or request in Jobber.
  3. Nobody can pick up. The receptionist takes a message and saves it in Jobber as well as your TimberSwitch inbox.

What you can do with it

  • A no-heat call at 9pm becomes a Jobber request your office sees first thing, with the address and callback number in the note.
  • A first-time caller becomes a Jobber client, so nobody retypes a voicemail into Jobber.
  • A regular customer calls while your crew is on a roof: the AI greets them by first name and files the request under their existing client.
  • "Tell Dave the gate code changed" lands as a note on that customer's Jobber client.

Use cases

Industries

What the AI receptionist will do on calls

  • Looks up the caller in Jobber by the number they call from and greets a known customer by first name.
  • Collects what the job is, the service address and the best callback number, and reads them back.
  • Creates a Jobber request titled with the job, under the existing client or a new one, and attaches the full call summary as a note on the request.
  • For a plain message from a known customer, adds it as a note on their Jobber client.
  • Always saves the call and message in your TimberSwitch inbox too, whether or not Jobber accepted it.

A sample call

Caller My furnace stopped working. Can someone come today?
AI I'm sorry to hear that. What's the address, and is anyone at home now?
Caller 12 Oak Street, and yes.
AI No heat at 12 Oak Street, someone home, and we'll call you back on this number. I've sent that to the team as a request. They'll call you shortly to confirm a time.

How setup works

Guided setup: our team connects it with you and tests it on your account before callers rely on it. Our team connects it with you, usually within 1-2 business days. It's part of our free assisted setup, on every package.

  1. Choose Connect on this page or in the app. If it shows Guided setup, Connect opens a short form and our team connects it with you.
  2. We send you a link. Sign in to Jobber as the account owner or an admin and choose Allow Access. Jobber shows exactly what TimberSwitch can read and change.
  3. In TimberSwitch, open Connectors and check Jobber shows as connected. Recognising returning callers is on straight away.
  4. Turn on Create leads or requests and Save messages in your system when you're ready for the AI to write into Jobber.
  5. Call your TimberSwitch number from a phone saved on a test client, ask for a visit, and check the request and its note appear in Jobber under Requests.

What it costs

Works with the AI receptionist, an add-on to any plan once it launches.

Good to know

  • Built from Jobber's documentation. Your account is among the first connected, so we check the first requests with you.
  • Creates requests, not scheduled visits or assessments. Jobber's API has no way to ask which times your crews actually have free, so the AI never promises a time. Your team still schedules the job.
  • The service address goes into the request note as text. It is not added as a Jobber property, so attach the property in Jobber when you convert the request.
  • Each request title ends with a short reference such as [TS-1a2b3c4d]. It ties the request to the call in TimberSwitch and stops a retry from filing it twice.
  • Messages from numbers that don't match a Jobber client stay in your TimberSwitch inbox; we don't create clients from plain messages.
  • Caller matching uses the phone numbers saved on the Jobber client. A customer calling from a number that isn't on their client is treated as new.
  • The AI shares only a first name with a caller, never invoices, quotes, balances or job history.
  • Clients created by TimberSwitch show our app as their lead source in Jobber, and Jobber doesn't let anyone edit that.
  • While our Jobber app is waiting for Jobber's marketplace review, Jobber caps how many businesses it can connect, so setup slots are limited.
  • Jobber limits how fast any app can call it. If Jobber asks us to slow down mid-call, the AI tells the caller the team will follow up, and the full message stays in your TimberSwitch inbox.
