  • ✓ No setup fees
AI receptionistComing soon

Every caller gets a friendly answer on the first ring, even when the whole team is busy.

Coming soon as an add-on to any plan. It greets callers as your business, answers common questions from the facts you give it, and asks before it rings a person. If nobody is free, it takes a proper message, so you call back the right people first instead of playing voicemail tag.

  • Your greeting, your choice of voice and your house rules
  • Answers only from the facts you give it, like hours, insurance or parking, and never makes up an answer
  • When a caller wants a person, it asks first, then rings the extension you choose
  • Takes a message with name, callback number, reason and urgency, plus an AI summary and the full transcript
  • Flags urgent calls, using keywords you set

The AI receptionist is built and being readied for launch. Until it is switched on, calls ring your phone menu, extensions and ring groups as usual, and every package already includes those.

THE TEN QUESTIONS

What callers ask restaurants most.

Write your answers to these into the receptionist's business facts. It only quotes what you write, so a question you leave blank gets a message for your team, never a made-up answer.

  1. What are your hours?

Gives your hours, kitchen closing time and any closures you list.

  2. Can I make a reservation?

Takes the request with the name, party size, time and a callback number read back to confirm, or explains how you take reservations.

  3. Can I place a takeout order?

Tells callers how you take orders, from what you wrote, or rings the extension you choose.

  4. Do you deliver?

Answers from what you write about delivery areas and partners.

  5. Do you have gluten-free or vegan dishes?

Answers only from the menu and allergen notes you write. For anything else it offers to connect your team. It never guesses about allergens.

  6. Is there parking?

Gives the address and your parking directions.

  7. Can we book a private event?

Explains what you offer and takes a message with the date, party size and contact details for your manager.

  8. Do you sell gift cards?

Explains how to buy them, from what you wrote.

  9. Are you open on New Year's Day?

Gives the special hours you write into its facts, and says it isn't sure if you haven't.

  10. Can I talk to the manager?

Asks first, then rings the extension you choose, or takes a message if nobody is free.

QUESTIONS FROM RESTAURANTS

The honest answers.

Is the AI receptionist available now?

Not yet. It is built and coming soon as an add-on to any plan. Until then your calls use the phone menu, extensions and ring groups, which every plan includes.

Can the AI receptionist take phone orders?

Not yet. It tells callers how you take orders or rings your team. Phone ordering into your point of sale turns on later, through a connector.

Will it get allergen questions wrong?

It answers only from the allergen notes you write, and offers to connect your team for anything else. It never guesses.

Can the host stand see who is calling?

Yes. Pair a TV by the host stand with Screens and it shows calls ringing and in progress, and missed callers nobody has called back, with numbers cut to the last 4 digits.

What does it cost?

The AI receptionist is coming soon as an add-on to any plan. Today TimberSwitch starts at $9 a month for your business: a number, an extension and 300 minutes each way, plus $4 a month for each extra extension, before tax.
